Jennifer Tyrell and Luke Martyn both pitched well. Michell Bonsma made a great catch in the out field. For Mark's Maintenance, Mike Leeming had two home runs and a triple. In the fourth inning the team turned an im- portant double play. Two doubles by Pam Goble and excellent fielding by Candance Boccaccio. Blackstock Lioness Capture T-Ball Crown Last Sunday concluded a very exciting T-ball season with the Blackstock Lioness winning the league championship by edging the H & M Wright Sox 17-15. In tournament play the Lion- ess beat Lishman's 22-16 in their first game behind the two home runs hit by Shawn McNa- mara. Haley Campbell, Bryan McNamara and Adam Cunday helped out offensively scoring three runs each while Brian Carter continued his strong bat- ting comeback. Jay Nadon lead the short-handed Lishmans at- tack scoring four runs while Adam Tarr hit two triples. In the championship final, the Lioness jumped into an ear- ly 9-4 lead and hung on for the victory. The balanced hitting at- tack was led by Adam Cunday and Matthew Ferguson with triples while every team mem- ber scored at least one run apiece. For the H & M Wright Sox, Mitchell Truax had a triple and scored three runs while Kristyng Bauer scored four runs. The defensive play of the game was an unassisted triple play by Shawn McNamara of the Lioness that helped squash a Wright Sox rally. H & M rallied in the top of the fifth but fell two runs short to preserve the victory for the Li- oness. Members of the winning Local Mosport racers hold Cartwright ball team included: Adam Cunday, Mikey Parr, Kyle Wyatt, Mat- thew Ferguson, Haley Camp- bell, Corey Hellingman, Brian Carter, Ricky Geer, Shawn McNamara, Nicole Beechey and Bryan McNantara. The team's three coaches were John Hellingman, Randy Ferguson and Garry Beechey. Hats off to all those who took time to cheer and help out all the T-ball players. Your partici- pation was much appreciated. Good luck to all and wishing you all continued fun. T-ball tournament was rained out on Saturday, Aug. 8 and rescheduled for Sunday, Aug. 9. . Game One H & M Wright Sox - 27 Lishman's- 16 Game Two H&M Wright Sox - 15 Lioness-17 H & M Wright Sox saved their best game of the season for the first game of the tourn- ment. Very strong first and sec- ond innings with eight out of nine batters scoring runs. Mitch Truax had two grand slam home runs. All the players; Donald Shaw, Michael Hazeldon, Kristyna Bauer, Kory Bauer, Scott Jorgenson, Cheryl Colwell, Josh MacNeil, Tim Gibson, Ali MacArthur, and Mitch Turax pulled togeth- er as a team but couldn't hang on to it for the championship game. Congratulations to the Lion- ess team on their championship victory. 7-8 Mites July 27, it was Greenbank Garden Center vs Pizza Delight at R.H. Cornish. It was an excit- ing game as Greenbank held the lead by one until the last in- ning with the final score of 33- 26. Jesse, Thomson hitting five for six and making a great dou- ble play, holding Pizza Delight down to three runs in the sec- ond inning. All players achieved good hits with Callan Nesbitt and Joey Sanchez hitting espe- cially well, with six hits and six runs each. Pizza Delight showed fine form with their three stars be- ing Geoffrey Simpson, Steven Groves three hits and three runs and Nicole Virtue with four hits and four runs.
