The children were pre- sented with Bars and Awards for Perfect Attendance and near perfect attendance. It was won- derful to see these children get their awards as we have watched them grow from tiny babies till now when they achieve this honor. One stormy winter Sunday, Joel Thomson was the only member at Sunday School in his class. The girls quartet opened the service singing with Valerie Hunter at the piano. They have chosen a name for their group, "Providence"!! The girls will be singing at the Ploughing Match near Lindsay in the "Victoria County Exhibit" on Wednesday, September 16 at 2-2:30. Rev. Shepherds sermon was "The Lost and Found Department" telling us more of what we are searching for. The Senior Choir will begin practice on September 17 at 7:30. The Evening unit of the U.C.W. will hold their meeting in the church on September 16 at 7:30 p.m. Calling all 4H members - 4H is starting on Monday, Septem- ber 21 at 4 p.m. in the leaders home. They will be residing in Fenelon Falls. Mrs. Margaret Couperth- waite enjoyed a bus trip with the "Seniors" to Columbus, Ohio to attend the "Ameriflora" celebration of Christopher Co- lumbus' arrival in America. Mr. and Mrs. Art and Clara Bagna of Oshawa were Sunday visi- tors with Margaret and Robert. We won more prizes at the Uxbridge Fair. Sunnyfield Champion Holstein By Joel Bagg, Farm Management Specialist Cecil Snoddon and family of Sunnyfield Holsteins, Sunder- land, exhibited the Grand Champion cow at the recently held Ontario County Holstein Show. This outstanding 4-year- old, Don-A-Dale Sultan Dixie, has been Grand Champion at this show for three consecutive years. The Reserve Champion was the first prize Senior 2- year-old, Dappledale Eclipse Chloe. She was exhibited by the Phoenix Bros. of Greenbank. The Junior Champion, Ron- beth Star Missy, was exhibited by Holtbyhome Holsteins of Port Perry and was the winner of the Winter Yearling Class. This outstanding individual was the 1991 All Canadian In- termediate Heifer Calf. The first prize Summer Yearling, Flettdale Inspiration Belle was Reserve Junior Champion. She is owned and bred by T. Robert Flett of Oshawa. The Werry family of Loa-De- Mede Farms Ltd., Oshawa, was the winner of the Futurity Class, with Loa-De-Mede Inspi- ration Dixie. Loa-De-Mede Farms Ltd. was awarded the Premier Breeder Award, while Phoenix Bros. re- ceived the Premier Exhibitor Award. This was the 54th Ontario County Holstein Show held at Port Perry Fair. The judge was Brent Walker, Guelph. One hundred and seventeen head were exhibited by 32 exhibitors at this high quality show.
