28 - PORT PERRY STAR A pg * Hay rides along the trails at Skyloft Ski Club were just one of the many activities taking place last Sunday afternoon at the club's annual "Open Hills" get-together. Members, friends and their families spent an enjoyable afternoon watching ski demonstrations, taking part in the ski swap, socializing and enjoying a hot dog barbecue. Seen at back of the hay wagon are members, Tom Radford, Mike Paolini, president Sue Stuart, Diane Burt and Betty Jack. Petites defeat Markham 11-0 The Port Perry Community Nursing Home Petites opened the season with a resounding 11-0 domination of visiting Markham 1. The preparation for the season in practices, pow- er skating or ringette camp is going to pay dividends as the season progresses. Jennifer Hammond set the tone for the upcoming season as she logged a shutout in net. Port established themselves early but it wasn't until half- way through the first period that Leanne Holt lit up the scoreboard on a nice pass from Lisa Lafort. Before the first pe- riod ended Jennifer Donnelly added two goals with assists go- ing to Cathy Cooper and Leanne Davison. Constant pressure by Port wore down the Markham team. Melissa Hooker picked up her first goal as a Petite with an as- sist to Leanne Holt. The next - Tuesday, October 20, 1992 4 a goal Melissa returned the fa- vour setting up Leanne. Melis- sa then set up Julia Leaman for her first Petite goal. Miranda Burgess picked up her first Petite goal when Laur- en Christie started a three way passing play centered by Leanne Davison. Miranda then set up the strong skating Jennie Imrie who used the new any three player in rule to notch her first goal of the year. Leanne Holt then completed the hat trick on an unassisted marker. Lauren Christie who had been playing defence showed her diversity when given the chance to play forward by fin- ishing a sharp pass from Lisa Lafort. The final goal had Alicia Burgess setting up Jen Donnel- ly to complete her hat trick.
