Leaders and members of the Durham East Beef Club, the Durham East Conservation Club, the Junior Dairy Club, the Senior Dairy Club, the Field Crops Club, the Horse Club, the Sheep Club, Swine Club, Walk on the Wild Side, Farm Machin- ery Club, Veterinary Science Club all received their awards and certificates. Many special prizes were also awarded. Scott Swain was pre- sented with the Durham Farm- er's County Co-op Award for the 4-H member obtaining the high- est number of points in his work in the Sheep Club. Local members who were pre- sented with an Ontario Trilli- um and a 4-H Clover Pin for the completion of six projects were Andrew Frew, Brooke McLaughlin, Karen Swain, Da- vid Kemp and Scott Swain. Two local girls each received limited edition print for the completion of 24 projects - Jill Van Camp and Esther Kelly. Congratulations girls. Morning Unit On Wednesday, Oct. 21 the Morning Unitofthe U.C.W. met at the home of Peggy Larmer. After a hot beverage and tasty home baking, the meeting was opened by the leader Anita Da- vis. The business was quickly conducted and plans were made concerning the tractor pull ban- quet on Saturday, Nov. 14. Gwenyth Thompson was in charge of the worship and con- ducted a timely and thought provoking "Pra: er for the Na- tion" and "A Reflection Upon News Headline." Lois Luke led a program concerning "A Rag- ing Granny - A Life of Mission." A quilt made by the W.A. in 1961 has been donated to the U.C.W. by Jean Kyte and ways of displaying it was discussed.
