Flowers and trees show loneli- ness... and circles give away the day dreamer. Blue Ray Chapter On a very cold windy night Blue Ray Chapter Number 238, Order of the Eastern Star held the first meeting of our new slate of officers, and opened the Chapter with Worthy Matron Lynda Clements presiding, as- sisted by Worthy Patron Fred Alton. The Chapter was led in Prayer by Chaplain Marilyn Jones. Associate Matron Bon- nie Windsor reported on cater- ing and needs some willing workers for the next two din- ners in the near future. More in- formation later. Elsa Bongard gave her benevolent report and is preparing the lovely goodies for the shut-ins and the elderly. The Chapter members were deeply saddened to hear of the sudden passing of dear brother Sam Cawker. Prayers and thoughts are for Mabel and her family. A beautiful Eastern Star Service was held at the Wagg Funeral Chapel in memo- ry of Sam. Trip Enjoyed Roy and Doris Nottingham of Caesarea have just returned from an enjoyable eight weeks in Australia. They visited with daughter Nancy Nottingham Reid and husband Greg Reid, in Leura, Australia, and then spent time in Tasmania, and had a great trip across Austra- lia Indian Pacilic Railway. A very interesting and most en- joyable trip all the way. Court Lady Snowbird Bazaar The Court Lady Snowbirds had a splendid bazaar Thurs- day evening, Nov. 19 with an excellent attendance. Arlene Malcolm opened the event. Lots of novel crafts for sale, and the bake table was groaning with lovely baking to tempt you all. The penny sale for the kiddies was just great too. The Nestle- tones entertained with some lively as well as Christmas numbers so much enjoyed, with Karen Yellowlees leading and Carol Mairs playing the piano. A delightful lunch was served at the close of the evening. The prize winners were: first - Doro- thy Lee, a pearl necklace; sec- ond - Darlene Vanderzwet, glass turkey; third - Rebecca Heldson, $25. Food hamper - Faye Boynton. We'll surely look forward to next year with the Courts! Birthday Party Attended Mrs. Neta Fish, Cadmus Road, accompanied daughter Marlene Bannister of Peterbo- rough, and attended the birth- day celebration of two-year-old Melissa, infant daughter of Cal- vin and Leanne Bannister of Stroud. Our best wishes to Melissa for a fine year ahead. Caesarea Bazaar Held The Caesarea Ladies Bazaar held on Saturday from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. was quite a successful event with a good crowd to pur- chase the many interesting novelties as well as other lovely items for sale. Our warmest congratulations to those in charge. Nestleton United Church A smaller attendance than usual with Glenn and Arlene Malcolm at the door. Rev. Dale Davis conducted the service and the 17 children enjoyed the theme re: Leaders. The chil- dren answered any questions posed to them very well indeed. Rev. Davis' topic for the congre- .gation was "Follow The Leader" an excellent message about many ideas in leading. In our own simple way we can encour- age or lead others... and there is no knowing where that encour- agement may lead. The very best part of a good person's life, is the little nameless unremem- bered acts of kindness and love. The trio Kathy Tromans, Re- gina Walker and Shirley Jack- son sang nicely "Where Two or Three Gather" with Karen Yel- lowlees playing the organ. Of- fering received by Dennis Yel- lowlees and Glenn Malcolm. Service closed with the lively "We're The People Of God" by Estelle White. Sympathy Extended Our deepest sympathy to the relatives of the late Vivian (Mrs. Albert) Cawker of Bob- caygeon - a former resident of Port Perry for many years. Those surviving are son Joel, Danny and daughter Bonnie. Vivian was a fine person, well liked, and will be sadly missed. Also, sympathy to Bill Reid of Orono, in the passing of his lov- ing wife Myrtle Weatherelt who grew up in Caesarea - a beauti- ful person and she will be missed. Sympathy to Gerald Kelly of Blackstock in the loss of his mother, in Bobcaygeon. Sorry to hear Carrie Miller of Caesarea is in Port Perry hospi- tal and we hope for a good re- covery soon. A grand lady! Nestleton Presbyterian Church With an average attendance, Nov. 22, the regular service was held at 11 a.m., with Rev. Wil- liam Fairley in the pulpit. Joyce Taylor was the organist and D. Lee taught the Sunday School pupils. Psalm 23 was repeated in unison, and Scripture readings were from II Samuel, and St. Luke 7. The Sunday School pupils were reminded that each per- son is a child of God, with every- one having individual needs. In the sermon, Rev. Fairley speaking of the familiar words of the 23rd Psalm said that it had been questioned if David 4 ) Please recycle: this newspaper | had indeed been the one to write this psalm - and at what stage of his life. We see it as a psalm for all seasons of our lives, and in gratitude should realize that we are all one, in our Lord Jesus Christ. Holy Communion will be on Dec. 20, at 11 a.m. service. White Gift donations will be accepted any Sunday from now on, for Port Perry Food Bank. On a bright November morn- ing, the regular service was held at 11 a.m., conducted by Rev. William Fairley. The or- ganist was Shirley Scott, and Dorothy Lee taught the Sunday School pupils. Barney McCabe and Geo. Scott were the ushers.
