According to Durham Regional Police, Leanne Pilkington was travelling westbound when she lost control of the vehicle and it rolled over. In appreciation for her 10 years of volunteer service, the exhibition room at the library was renamed the Kent Farn- dale Gallery in the spring of 1992. Cathryn Hall, library board member and one of the adminis- trators of the bursary, points out that the whole eommunity benefits when local artists and aspiring artists decided to take time out to study areas that are of interest to them. The public-supported bur- sary, she adds, is an expression of appreciation from the com- munity to the painters, potters, jewellers, sculptors, and fibre artists who have enriched our lives over the past decade.
