ear "A Family Tradition for 128 Years" PORT PERRY STAR - Tuesday, March 22,1994 - 13 "Let's Talk Fishing" show teaches anglers techniques to catch fish By Kelly Lown Port Perry Star Area anglers looking for tips on how to catch trophy bass and walleye should mark March 30 on their calendar. "Let's Talk Fishing" with hosts Wes Lavergne and Pete Pokoluk will be held at the Latcham Centre in Port Perry. The show is aimed at teaching anglers the techniques the pro fishermen use to catch fish. Itis a show dealing with practical on the water tactics which will in- crease your angling success. The event, sponsored by Willy and Son Small Engines and Ma- rine, Mercury Outboards and Monarch and ProCraft fishing boats will be a more than two hour seminar on techniques, tips and a question and answer period. The two anglers travel across Ontario presenting "Let's Talk Fishing." Mr. Lavergne is a sports fishing educational teacher, tournament profes- sional and outdoor write while Mr. Pokoluk is a sports fishing lecturer and outdoor writer as well as the 1991 Angler of the Year. Representatives from the Oshawa Power and Sail Squad- ron will also be on hand at the event to answer any questions on the regulations of the water- ways. A number of boats, cour- tesy of Willy and Son will also be parked at the Latcham Centre forinterested observers. Tickets for the seminar are on sale now for $5 per person, 175 will be sold. Advanced tickets can be purchased at Willy and Son on Simcoe Street or can be purchased at the door. Three door prizes will be handed out during the evening. The first prize is a Quicksilver "Deepcycle" RV Battery, second prize a case of Mercury Injec- tion Oil and third prize a Shima- no fishing rod, courtesy of J&D Fishing and Archery. Those attending the show are reminded to fill out a ballot for a special Mercury Outboard "Hook Up with the Pros Geta- way Giveaway" either at Willy and Son or at the seminar.
