The An- gels were led by Stacie Jenkins who had seven RBIs along with three hits in three atbats. Sara Cain started things off with a single, a sacrifice bunt by Nikki Christie, before Michelle Scott homered to put the An- gels ahead 2-0. Whitby went ahead on a walk, three singles and a home run to take the lead 5-3 after three innings. The "Scugog Angels" then shut down Whitby the rest of the way. Robin Robin Adcock held Whitby to only three hits, the rest of the way on to a 12-5 win. The "Scugog Angels" erupted for four runs in the fourth, on a walk to Tracy Weightman, sin- gles by Amber Wood, and Robin Adcock, this all came about be- fore Stacie Jenkins homered, to clean the bases - this made the score 6-4. The "Angels" got one in the fifth and three in the sixth add- ing two more for good measure in the seventh. Stacie Jenkins with three for three, along with Laurie Dud- geon three for five, Tracy Weightman three for four along with three RBIs. Michelle Scott was two for four with two RBIs. Robin Adcock had two sin- gles, Sara Cain, Amber Wood and Robin Adamson all had sin- gles. Port Perry Midget "Angels" The Port Perry Midget "An- gels" won their third league game this week by beating the Oshawa Jr. Royals 15-4 on Sun- day nightin Port Perry. Oshawa scored in their half of the first, before Port Perry broke out for four runs in their half of the first inning. Sara Cain led off with a walk, fol- lowed with singles by Laurie Dudgeon, Tracy Weightman and Michelle Scott singling in a pair of runs. Robin Adamson single also produced an RBI Oshawa added two more runs in the second held off the "An- gels" in the third and fourth in- nings. Then the Royals added one more run in the third. The Angels added six more runs in the bottom of the fifth, and one more in the sixth. The final score 156-4 Angels over the Jr. Royals. Laurie Dudgeon and Tracy Weightman were four for five, while Robin Adamson and Mi- chelle Scott were three for five, and three for four, Sara Cain had two singles and a walk, while Jennifer Eagan, Kim Pop- pleton and Julie Ball all had singles. Robin Adcock gave up 11 hits in getting the win. Notes In Ancaster, Ont. the Port Perry "Scugog Angels" lost games to Thorold 6-1, then the Haldimid Jrs. handed the girls a 6-0 loss. But they came along with a 4-3 win over Markham Jrs. Nikki Christie went two for three on an RBI, Brooke Wilkin- son with two singles and an RBI, Michelle Scott, RBI, one of Nikki Christie's hits a triple, one win and two losses, not bad for tournament play. They came home and won a league game as well. Joanne McDuff and Gena Spence both had hits and an RBI as did Che- ryl Vaughan who went five in- nings before Angela Davis took over and was the closing pitch- er. "Scugog Angels" Out A Finals A field day was what you could call the league in Oshawa Thursday night as the Scugog "Angels" crushed the Oshawa 733, 24-2. Cherl Vaughan threw a six hitter and struck out 10 along the way. Tracy Smith with four hits, four hits also to Gene Spence, Cathy Davis, three hits too Sherri Brown, Lisa Crooker, Kim Stewart and Cheryl Vau- ghan, who also had the win, two hits by Nancy McConnell and singles to Kelly Caldwell, Stephanie Will, Mandy Porter. Gena Spence, Nancy McCon- nell and Sherri Brown each had four RBIs. With three RBIs were Cathy Davis, Kim Stewart and Mandy Porter. Off To Ancaster Tour The "Scugog Angels" handed Windsor Cent. a 6-0 defeat with the Angels scoring two in the first and four runs in the sev- enth. Cathy Davis with three sin- gles, Joanne McDuff with two doubles and a single. Tara Mow- den with two singles, as did An- gela Davis, Gena Spence with a double and single. Joanne McDuff with three RIBs. Ange- la Davis tossed a six hitter and had five strikeouts. The final 6- 0. Defeat Waterford 10-2 The Scugog "Angels" won their second game in the An- caster Tournament by the score of 10-2 over Waterford, Ont. A huge five run first inning, then two in the second followed with three in the third was all the "Angels" needed. Joanne McDuff and Gena Spence each had two hits and three RIBs. Also with two hits each were Cheryl Vaughan, Nancy McConnell and Tara Mowden who also had two RIBs. Cheryl Vaughan tossed a 10 hitter in her win. Scugog Angels 2 Kingston 0 The "Scugog Angels" hooked up with their arch rivals from Kingston and this game like others before was a gigantic struggle as usual. Lisa Crooker singled, then Nancy McConnell singled with Crooker going to third. Joanne McDuff then singled home Crocker with McConnell taking third and then scored on Gena Spence's ground ball out. Angela Davis went all the way for the win, giving up two hits along the way. She also struck out 10 batters in winning 2-0 over Kingston. Diane Drury who went to P.E.I. with the An- els last year had one of the two ingston hits in the game. Haldimand Hand Angels Defeat The "Scugog Angels" took an early 1-0 lead before Haldi- mand went ahead 2-1. The An- gels added two more in the fifth to go ahead 3-2. Then the An- gels added one more before Hal- dimond scored, then they pro- ceeded to add two more in the seventh to win 5-4. T-Ball Blackstock Figure Skating 14 Blackstock Lioness 13 In another close game the Figure Skating Club remained in first place with their third victory. Offensive stars for the winners were Sarah Churchill, Matthew Ferguson with three hits and Steven Larmer with two hits including a triple. Mi- chelle Morrison led the defense with some fine fielding plays. Kyle Sobczak led Lioness with two hits as well as playing a great game in the field. Other stars for the Lioness were Sara Oppers, Brent Paradis and Jus- tin Dart. Analda Garden Centre 26 Super Spud 25 A seven run final inning proved the margin of victory for the Analda team as they over- came the deficit to take the win by one run. The hard hitting Analda team were led by Donald, Sean and Jeff all with home runs. Every player scored at least one run for the winners. The Super Spud played with only eight players but managed a strong offensive game. Lead- ing the way were Rina Prender- gast with a grand slam home run as well as scoring five runs. Bryan McNamara continued his strong defensive play as well as scoring four runs. Dustin Parker played his strongest game of the season scoring four times as well as making some fine defensive plays. Tyke Turner's Green Giants § Mike Baker Auto 1 A close pitcher's dual high- lighted this low scoring game. The game's only hit came off the bat of Sean McKenna of Turn- ers. Baker Auto pitchers Taylor Churchill and Mitch Truax combined for eight strikeouts while Kory Prosser and Ashley Lucas of Turners totalled 12 'outs via strikeouts. J.C.Flooring 8 Swain Seeds 7 A passed ball throwing mis- cue by Swain's provided the margin of victory for J.C. Floor- ing. The Flooring team scored all their runs in the last two in- nings after Swain's had built up a 7-0lead. Mark Carnaghan led the win- ners with a double and a triple. Leading Swain's were Kyle Wyatt who went three for three "with two RBIs while Shawn McNamara chipped in with a single. Cartwright Youth Council 11 Lishman's4 A grand slam home run by Tyler Cyr vaulted CVC to their first victory. Other hitting stars for the winners were Joey Hill with two home runs, Nicole Jones with a double and Josef Chrapek with a triple. CVC pitchers were the defensive stars allowingonly three walks. Joel Michel led Lishman's with two hits including a two run scoring double. Other team leaders were Mike Hobbs with a double and a fine first pitching performance by Jake Jones. ites Asselstine's Yamaha 22 Blackstock Lions 13 Extra base hits proved the or- der of the night as Asselstine's maintained a perfect record to date. Home runs by Craig Assel- stine and Jessica McLaughlin led the winners. Other offensive stars were Alex Blue, Carl Geer and Bethany Newman. Hits galore fell a bit short for the Lions. Blake Tanner hit a home run while Cory Hobbs and Megan MacArthur had a triple each. Doubles were hit by Jere- my Morrison, Jeff Kraan and Casie Shortridge. MKM Eggbeaters 26 Ash/Embers Flames 7 Tyson Prescott led the Kgg- beaters with a home run and scored five times. Alex Dejong played a fine defensive game. Carpet Warehouse 20 Martyn Consulting 19 After a slow start Carpet Warehouse took control by scor- ing all their runs over the next four innings including the max- imum allowed six in the fifth. The winners were led by a triple by Lawrence McDonald and four for four nights by An- drew Lamb and Rebekah Va- noosteveen. Martyn's stormed back with seven runs in the open inning but came up one run short. A home run by Ryan Nesbitt and doubles by Nesbitt and Brad Sutcliffe led the Martyn team. Mark Morrison provided some fine defensive plays for the Con- sulting crew. Martyn's Consulting 16 Ash/Embers Flames 7 In a rained out, rescheduled game Martyn's were led by Chris Goble's double, triple and home run. Other game stars for Martyn's were Celine Hunter, Ryan Nesbitt and Tyke call-up Shawn McNamara. Alex Dejong led the Flames with some excellent defense es- pecially on the mound keeping the Martyn team scoreless on the third inning. Offensive stars for Ash/ Embers were Sean Winter with a double, Steven Vine with a 'triple and a two for two night by James McGeoghen. Squirts Cummings Backhoe 12 Nestleton Country Store 11 An all round team effort lifted Cummings to the narrow victo- ry. Strong pitching by Andrea Stephenson, Tyler Lucas and Grant Arsenault led Cummings to their third win of the season. [Leanna Bryans and Christa Lane also played well for the winners. Aaron Warren led Nestleton again with a three run RBI triple, while Michelle Blundon chipped in with a single. John Vanstrien pitched very well for the Country Store. Pineridge Glass Service 14 Antrim House 11 The winners won their second game of the season behind a to- tal team effort. A triple by Dar- +4 Keeler and two singles by icki led the offensive produc- tion. Defensive standouts were John Williams, Susie Geirow while Jessie Vitek and Stepha- nie Kingswell pitched well. Causeway Cougars 16 Marlin Travel 7 A 14 hit attack led the Cou- gars to victory over the cross town. Marlin Travel team, lead- ing the way were D. Bauer and D. Young with two hits each while Jessica Boccaccio laid down a perfect bunt for a hit. Brian Wonnacott led the de- fense starting the front half of a double play. D. Carnaghan led Marlin with two hits while J. Gerrow, C. Thompson and C. Vernest had a hit each. London Life Lazers 16 Aldon Transmission 13 Battling the heat and humidi- ty the Lazers won another close - game. Brad Sutcliffe had a great pitching performance as well as two hits. Other Lazer hits came from Matthew Welts and Sean McLelland with two while Mike Thompson and Joey Lane with singles. Nathan Cook and Derek Bond led the Aldon Transmis- sion team. Causeway Cougars 18 Port Perry IGA 6 Timely hitting and a strong defense led the Cougars to victo- ry. David Bauer's home run and Brian Wonnacott's triple were the big hits. London Life Lazers 138 Wotten Carpentry 6 First claim to town bragging rights went to the Lazers as fine itching performances by Mike hompson, Mike Sonne and Ja- son Michel held the Hammer Heads to six runs. Leading the hitters was Brian Charbrand with four sin- gles. Tim Borody and Garrett Brown managed singles for Wotten's while Joe and Schem- ~ bri played well at first base. Wotten Carpentry 12 Durham Pharmacy 8 Fine Ling performances by Tim Borody, Stephen Jensen and Joey Schembri led the Hammer Heads to victory. Tom Kittle did a fine job pitching and holding the Carpentry team at bay over the final few innings. Collin Holditch also played a fine defensive game for the Port Perry team.
