Durham Region is offering an incentive program for residential homeowners in the above noted communities to replace toilets, showerheads and faucet aerators with water efficient fixtures. This program wiil provide 50% funding assistance to the eligible households towards the cost of fixture replacement. To be eligible to apply for funding assistance, your home must have a connection to the Regional water supply system in Port Perry/Prince Alber, Uxbridge or Beaverton, and have an individual water meter. Under this program, replacement of at least one toilet per household is mandatory. The toilets to be used for this program will be Ultra Low Flush (6 litre/flush) toilets. Removal of old fixtures and installation of new fixtures will be carried out by a Regional Contractor. With water fixtures replaced under this program, homeowners are expected to have substantial savings in water and sewer charges and energy cost. More detailed information of the program and Application Forms are available at your local Township Office in Port Perry, Uxbridge or Beaverton. Interested homeowners are requested to fill out the Application Form and return it to your Township Office as early as possible.
