How about that sports fans?! Game three saw two unde- feated teams from week two square off! On this day it was that strong Harrison Blazers dumping the Pizza Delight Dev- ils 6-2. Post game conversations indicated that the next time these two teams face each other on Nov. 27 could be a contest that the fans won't want to miss! For the Blazers, it was the powerful tandem of John Har- man and Darcy Milligan doing the damage as Milligan led with a hat trick and an assist. Har- man on the other hand had one goal and three assists! Dale Bronson notched a pair of goals and Jim Park with two helpers with single assists to Steve Churchill and Larry Jackson rounded ou the Blazer scoring. Sorry folks, Jim Beatty stuck to defense in this game! For the Devils it was Ken Smart Sr. from Mike "Disco" Driscoll and Brian "Red" Ste- venson, and late in the third, Todd Healey from Stevenson to complete the Pizza Delight scor- ing for the day. Game four saw the Taylor Aces look for their first victory of the season against the Cran- dell's Gamblers but it was not to Minor hockey registration draws held Several families who regis- tered their children in the Port Perry Minor Hockey Corpora- tion this year were the recip- ients of gifts this week. Hockey players were charged an additional $25 for registration this season and with each registration the fam- ily's name went into a draw for aprize. This season 516 local players registered to play hockey in Port Perry, up from 473 last season. Seventy-seven local mer- chants donated 90 prizes to the cause and the winners were drawn Sunday at an executive meeting. See ad in today's sports section for a list of the merchants who donated. Port Perry Minor Hockey is also in the midst of another fundraising campaign aimed for October, in conjunction with the Port Perry MoJacks. The Aces jumped out to an early 3-1 lead at the end of peri- od one on a pair of goals by "Leg- end" Sheehey and a single from Rick Campbell, but that was the end of their scoring story! Campbell, Ken Little, Al Bon- ner, Mike Kane, Mark Pehle- mann and sponsor, Wayne Tay- lor each notched single assists. The final two frames be- longed to the Gamblers as they took over to snatch the victory and a respectable 1-1-1 record. Mark Decosta had a pair of goals with singles to Henry For- derer, Ken Jeffrey and Carl Durham. Robert Evans had a big day with three assists while Decosta and Dave Bourgeois counted two each, and singles went to Jeffrey, Durham, Bryan Norton and Bob Partington. Game five saw the usual crowd take to their positions on "the rail" to see the Pineridge Phantoms battle it out with the Van World Sharks. This proved to be the game of the day as both teams decided on a rather physical tone! How- ever, at the buzzer it was the Pineridge boys humbling the Sharks with a 4-0 victory and a share of first place with the Harrison Blazers. : Shawn Parker gained the shutout while in front of him Clarence Stephenson, complete with new pants, notched two and Bill Van Camp and Jim Fowler scored singles. Lee Steeves had two assists while Fred Moffatt, Brian Samis, Steve Fox and Sean Fewer had single helpers. Once again, hon- esty came to light as Lee Steeves set the record straight in informing those interested that he did not score in last week's victory over the Fitzge- rald Clippers.
