There were no ghosts or goblins as one might expect this close to Halloween, but there were plenty of costumes at the hospital's Grand Masquerade Gala held last Saturday night at Goreski's Lakeside Resort. Supporters of the expansion of Community Memorial Hospital, who included area residents, members of the business commun- ity, doctors and hospital staff, filed into the hall dressed in a assort- ment of elaborate costymes. The evening, which was also used to celebrate the 25th Ann- iversary of the hospital on Paxton St., attracted dozens of famous personalities including... Batman and Batwoman, Caesar, Super- man and the Phantom of the Opera. Male and female Costume win- ners were announced by MC Lance Brown with awards going to Elaine Weekes and Paul Van Camp. The Group Award was pre- sented to a table of eight Mimes. Entertainment during the even- ing was a show called The Magic of Ken and Barbi (not the dolls). Dancing followed the gala din- ner and magic show. ped =. 3 - ey RE Ps AR SRE Xs i. a Elaine Weekes and Paul VanCamp were the winners of the Best Costumes.
