"A Family Tradition for 128 Years" Seniors bazaar November 12 by N. R. Caswell A large group of seniors at- tended our Oct. 12 meeting and were treated to some fine enter- tainment. The singing of our National Anthem opened the meeting and then all members Joined together in singing "The More We Get Together" and greeting each other. Mary Can- non read the minutes of previ- ous meetings and Vic gave the treasurer's report. Committee members reported on their re- spective plans. Many helping hands will be needed for the Bazaar on Nov. 12 and donations to the bazaar tables and food baskets would be appreciated. We would like to have all the draw tickets turned in at the next meeting Oct. 26. A recitation of the first Thanksgiving day was read by Hazel Gray and Jim Martin pre- sented a Thanksgiving prayer. Stan presented information on the "Power of Attorney" Act and the possible difficulties for those who are not protected by this document. The choir favoured us with three selections appropriate for the Thanksgiving season. Dwight Wilson, accompanied by Eva Hunter on the piano, en- tertained us with his fine voice. Roy presented the club histo- ry for 1970-71. This year Community Care delivered 3,317 meals and pro- vided 4,508 rides for clients, who cannot make it to medical appointments, shopping and outings by themselves. Community Care has a staff of 135 volunteers who provide the elderly and those with disa- bilities and special needs the means to remain safely and comfortably in their homes.
