After the meeting had concluded all were entertained by Archie Walker on the piano with a rendition of popular songs and a few hymns. This non-denominational group of men is planning to get together €for one hour each month on a Saturday morning for breakfast and fellowship. The next meet- ing is scheduled for Saturday, May 13 at 8:30 a.m. All area men -are invited to come for breakfast and to participate with the group for fellowship and short discussion. Please watch this space in the coming weeks for more details. Robinglade is happy to an- nounce two new grandparents!! Diane and Trevor Runcieman are the proud grandparents of Courtney Nicole Brown, born on April 21 at 1:14 p.m. in the Col- lingwood Hospital, weighing 6 Ibs. and 5-1/2 ozs. Courtney's mum and dad, Tara Runcieman and Garry Brown are just thrilled. Aunt Laura and Uncle Scott think Courtney is just great! Uncle Jason, who is away working at the moment is really looking forward to seeing his new niece.. Hope to see Tara and Garry visiting soon with Courtney. Congratulations to all!! On Saturday, May 13 the Seagrave Ann SEL [N{e] (0 Sparks, Brownies, and Guides groups will be having a yard/ bake sale to help offset operat- ing costs when they start their programs in September. Chris lives at 16 River Street, the road in to Sea- grave just before the exotic ani- mal farm turnoff. Attention Mariposa Ladies Group. The dinner out evening is May 10 at 6:30 p.m. at the Shrimp Cocktail in Whitby. This is the last meeting before the break for summer. The Seagrave United Church has sure been the hub of many non-church activities over the years by providing many groups a place to hold their meetings and functions. The whole com- munity at large and the many groups who meet there thank the church and its members for their generosity in sharing its facilities and providing a place locally to meet. Please remember the annual Robinglade yard sale. This year it has been decided to collect your "loonie" ahead of time for advertising, etc. If you are plan- ning to participate in this neigh- borhood yard sale, please call Tracey Evans at 985-9083 and drop your loonie off to her. Here's May... so where's the warmth? Greenbank Hooray! Hooray! 1t's the first of May. Where is the warm spring weather? Greenbank United Church congregation and many visitors enjoyed the music of the Bell's of St. Matthew Handbell Choir of Richmond Hill. This choir con- ,sists of 19 members ranging in age from 14 to seniors and they provided some beautiful sacred music. Next Sunday there will be "Coffee Time" before church at 10:15 a.m. so come and visit with your neighbor. Service is at 11 a.m. at Sunday School at 11:10 a.m. Don't forget Fidelas Unit U.C.W. on Wednesday, may 3 at 1:30 p.m. in the church. The Evening Unit meet at 8 p.m. and ladies bring your mother/ mother-in-law/special friend. Guest speaker will be Larry Ward talking about Agriculture in the community. Everyone welcome. Millbrook dance May 5 On Friday, May 5, a special dance is being held at the Mill- brook Legion, 9 King St. E., in support of the Millbrook Medi- cal Centre Lift Fund. The well known 50s and 60s Rock'N'Roll group "Pink Cadillac' will provide the entertainment and Tickets are on sale at the Millbrook Times, the Millbrook Deli and the Legion or by calling Greg Brown at 932-2224. They are $6.50 for advance sale and will be $7.50 at the door. Barfoot and Colleen Bruce who won gold medals as members of the Port Perry Snow Angels Per- cision Skating Team. They placed first in their division at a competition in Thornhill on Sunday, April 23. Many of cur community at- tended the Music Night at Sea- grave United Church, present- ed by Pinedale, Seagrave congregations. The choir, under the direction of Muriel Jebson, sang severl beautiful anthems, and several guest artists culmi- nated and an evening of many varied types of musical enter- tainment. The Greenbank W.I. will hold its monthly meeting on May 10 at the home of Eunice Rahm at 1:30 p.m. We will be doing scafe tie-dying and you are invited to attend. Well, the call to the Provincial Election has been heard and now we'll hear "I will do this" and "they can't do that" but on June 8 we'll have to make up our own mind. So whether this pertains to government or not here is the thought for the week: A reces- sion is a time when we have to do without a lot of things that our grandparents never heard of. Sheina Smiths' absence. The Eleanor Knight Group of the W.M.S. will meet on Wednesday afternoon of this week at 2 p.m. Euchre results are as fol- lows: 11 tables were played. Ladies' first prize went to Jean Johnston, second to Betty Lee. Mens' first prize went to Elmo Gibson, second to Don Wood. Lone hands - Joan Fleming and Gord MacDonald, 50/50 draw won by Vi Linton and Guest minister coming Verna Draper. Lucky door prize winners were Bill Hod- gins and Erma Wood. The next euchre party will be on Thurs- day, May 25 at the Community Centre. Joan Knight is a patient at Oshawa General Hospital, having underwen surgery on Wednesday. Our very best wishes to Joan for a speedy re- covery. Bruce Slater also had sur- gery recently at St. Michael's Hospital, Toronto. We hope he will soon be enjoying better health. Visiting with Bernice and Jean Gardner over the week- end were Jim and Linda Cun- nington from Guelph. On Friday evening, May 5 at 8 p.m. there will be a Sacred Music Night at St. James Pres- byterian Church, Stouffville featuring the Harvilleites Quartet. Having attended some of their concerts in recent years, it always promises to be an inspiring evening of music.
