Police say that 57 year- old Bryce Ashmore and his common law wife Frieda Willie, 51,were found dead around 10p.m. Friday night. Police are unwilling to give details of their inves- tigation conducted this past weekend, but would - confirm that Mr. Ashmore murdered his wife before killing himself sometime between 7:30 a.m. Thursday and 10p.m. Friday. "He was pretty much to himself," he said. Mr. Harper and a friend discovered Bryce and Frieda in their home Friday. Mr. Harper said the last time that he had seen Mr. Ashmore was the Tuesday before the discovery. He added that the retired GM employee was quite sick in recent weeks, and was having trouble getting around without crutches. Frieda Willie was also quiet, said Audrey Harper. She and her hus- band had been close friends with the deceased couple for close to 20 years. Mrs. Harper says she is having a hard time dealing with the tragedy. "Frieda was one of the most easy- going people," she said. "She wouldn't have hurt a flea. She took - care of Bryce really well." Funeral services for Mrs. Willie and Mr. Ashmore will take place at Lowe and Lowe funeral Home, followed by inter- ment Pine Grove Cemetery in Prince 'Albert Wednesday morn- ing at 11a.m. Club plans oldies dance The Rotary Club of Port Perry is once again gearing up for its second Annual "Oldies Dance" with popular morning host Erin Davis from radio station CHFI FM98 who will spin the hits of the 50s and 60s.
