That was almost 50 years ago, and this week, Mr. Morrow and his son Wayne will be celebrating the milestone at their Sunderland implement dealership. After leaving the service, Mr. Morrow started a Massey-Harris dealership in Port Perry at the corner of Perry and Mary Streets (now The Liquor Store). The building was originally a carriage factory, and when he purchased the property he began operating as Morrow Farm Equipment. Mr. Morrow operating from Port Perry until 1950, Local farm equipment 'celebrates 50 years in business when he decided to expand into Sunderland. For 25 years, the Morrows operated a dual dealer- ship, with his bother Gordon managing the Port Perry operation and Lloyd in Sunderland. | In 1975, Gordon retired due to failing health, and the Port Perry operation of Morrow Farm Equipment was closed. Just a few years earlier, Lloyd's son Wayne finished school and began to work for the business. In 1975, they bought additional land and doubled the size of the building. As the business continued to grow, Wayne Morrow assumed the position of company Ars oy a posi- t dealer tion he still holds. Again in 1993 it became necessary to expand the building to accommodate the larger service and office space needed to service their customers. Although Lloyd is semi-retired, he still plays an active part in the business, and can be found every day at the office. In appreciation of the loyalty of their staff and cus- tomers, Morrow Farm Equipment is holding an Open House at their Sunderland location this Friday, May 19, as they celebrate 50 years in business. i Former customers, friends and business associates are invited to drop by for a visit.
