A rh Here's the weekly report from Cartwright Minor Ball Once again mother nature did her stuff as the Wednesday sup- per time downpour cancelled the mite division. However, all other divisions played their weekly games. Squirt Division Mann's Cornhuskers- 17 Swain Seeds -15 A big overall improvement in play fell abit short for the Swain Seeds team as Mann's increased their record to 2-0. Leading Mann's was Brandi Brooks with a double while Chris Goble ! made an unassisted double play. Johnathan Swinard had 3 singles while Corinna Bauer notched a single to lead the of- fense for Swain's. Martyn Consulting -16 Antrim House-11 A home run by Mathew Welts and great fielding plays by Vicky Ellis and Evan Jones helped Martyn's to their first win. Offensively Stephanie Ma- son, Jamie Gimblett and Steven Delore had three hits each for Antrim's. T-BALL Blackstock Lions - 20 Superspud-16 The long ball gave the Lions their first win of the season. Miles Romain led the way with two home runs while Caleb Spring collected one round trip- per. Defensively Charlyn Stin- son played an excellent game at second base. Cody James highlighted Su- per Spud's play on defense with Colten James and Johnathon VanOostveen scoring three runs each. Scoring two runs each were Danielle Wolters, Mi- chelle Morrison and Robert Gatchell. Analda Garden Centre- 16 Figure Skating Club-10 Offensively Analda was spirited to victory by Warren Jackson's double and triple and ure skating club was Logan Malcolm's double and Ryan Dil- lion's double in the second in- ning. Strong defensive games were turned in by Bailey Gould and Michael Layton. Tykes Hammerheads -4 Springrove-1 Solid pitching by Corey Hell- ingman helped limit the Agn- vaters to only one run. Offen- sively Matt Morrison had two RBI's. Darcee Grove and Joel Michel collected the Vaders only hits. Baker Auto -W Philp Firebirds-L Baker's top game star was Brian Jensen with at least one home run and a fine three in- nings pitched. Steven Larmer played a strong defensive game making an unassisted double play to end another Baker rally. Robbie Gonnerman's double. Senior Aiding the cause for the fig- Dr. Workman Hawkeyes - W Don Frew & Sons - L, Timely hitting proved to be the difference as the Hawkeyes defeated Don Frew and Sons. Josh Martyn led the way with two home runs and Pam Goble chipped in with three hits in- cluding a triple. Defensively, some strong defense and excel- lent pitching kept the Frew Crew off the score board until thelastinning. Frew and Sons were led by Richard Frew's three hits while Stephanie Shortridge made a great catch on the mound while Troy Mappin was on the leading edge of making two double plays. Campbell Electric-19 Marlin Travel - 8 Campbell's continued their division mastry with another strong all round team effort. Of- fensively six extra base hits led the hit parade. Home runs were hit by Ryan Whittick and Sean Warren with Deryk Campbell collecting a triple and a double. Other doubles came from the bats of David Bauer and Elisha James, Cameron Vernest con- tinued to improve collecting three singles while Tyler Lucas had two singles as well as an- other good stint on the mound. Defensively strong catching and clutch pitching by Camp- bell's held Marlin's to only nine hits and eight runs. Jamie Budge hit a home run for Marlin and Alex McLaugh- lin a double for the extra base hits. As well Jason Price collect- ed two singles. Defensively strong catching by Jamie Budge and Jesse McKendry and the play of Carla McLaughlin highlighted Mar-: £4 lin's play on the field. Important Reminders 1. Good team- work in the field as well, with a great double play effort by Nicole Reinhart and Megan Venner.
