Rain welcomed but not the heavy winds fem---------------------------------- Utica & Epsom by | While the recent storms have created havoc all around us, the village of Utica appears to have avoided any major problems. We have maintained our power but areas all around us have been without hydro for some time due to fallen trees. We certainly needed the rain but the accompanying wind we could have done without. ) ET A set of GM vehicle keys has been 4 found in the Utica Hall parking lot. --==7J1 Anyone knowing who they belong to, please give me a call at 985-7564. Ray Pollard came home with a big mus- kie this weekend. Forty-four inches long and weighed around 20 pounds. Congratulations, Ray, I didn't think we had any more that size in the lake. This week on Friday night at 3 a.m. we had quite a wind storm. If you have a tree down on your property, you have a huge job ahead of you. Or if you are like many of us you have a lot of twigs and branches off your neighbor's trees to clean up. Really this is noth- ing compared to the storm which hit us in 1931. At that time we could walk along the beach on the east side of the big pier here in the village and there was a two- storey house with a large tree down through the middle of it. We should all thank Don Putsey who spent much of Sunday gathering branches, twigs, etc. in the park, caused by the storm. We had another week of vandalism in the park and I can assure you when we the taxpayers catch the guilty ones, we'll have a special ceremony for them before we turn them over to the police. We the taxpayers are not afraid of any charges of assault being laid by you because we know we are all fed up with this nonsense, the police are fed up and the courts are fed up. I wrote previously last winter about a $400 tree being snapped off by a four-wheel type vehicle and some people said the wheel spacing was wide for it to be a terrain-type. This week a resident saw a small white 4x4 racing around the ball diamond. I can assure this individ- ual when appre- hended his insurance premi- ums will be sky high. What defence can he give his insurance company for racing around a public park when 1t is a by-law offence and there are signs posted. Of course, the police will also ISSUE a summons.
