Prayer service, Thursday, July 27 will be in Utica Church starting at 7 p.m. A reminder to Hall Board members that the meeting will be Tuesday, August 1 starting at 8 p.m. in the Hall. This is in preparation for their planned August 18 cornroast. I'm still waiting for someone to claim the set of automobile keys which were lost in the Uti- ca Hall parking lot a couple of weeks ago. They are for a GM vehicle and have the name Cur- tis imprinted on them. Congratulations to John and Lisa Rankin on the birth of their daughter Bayley Leah who was born at Markham- Stouffville Hospital on Thurs- day, July 20, weighing seven pounds, nine ounces. Proud first time grandparents are Jim and Jean Rankin of Epsom and Bill and Doreen Hobson of Scar- borough. A perfect July Saturday add- ed to the 80th 4-H anniversary celebrations held at Sunder- land. Many from our area par- ticipated in several of the events - judging, displays, bar- becue supper, fashion show, or just visiting and renewing for- mer friendships. Approximately 21 members, spouses and friends of Bethes- da-Reach W.I. enjoyed dinner out and then the production of Anne of Green Gables at the Lindsay Kawartha Theatre re- cently. } Congratulations to Lynne Mcllvride-Evans for being awarded a first placing her in division of "Mixed Media" in To- ronto recently. Lynne will be participating, along with oth- ers, at the home of Sandra Rein- er, #8156 Ninth Line, Scugog (Bethesda) in the Sunday after- noon exhibits beginning now and running through Septem- ber. Sandra's gallery is called Unicarvel Gallery. She is an ex- perienced potter and some of us know her as the wife of Doug Moffatt, Scugog Councillor. Dropin and browse. Ross and Barbara Evans vis- ited his sister Doris Hockley, Unionville recently. Doris has been under doctor's care, but is improving nicely now. Some 30 friends and family of Ken and Beth Catherwood en- joyed a get-together at their Bobcaygeon property on Sun- day. Many of the Ashton and Astin gs were in attendance. Regatta plans ongoing This week here in the village our 16 captains in charge of col- lecting donations for the Regat- ta have been very busy. One look at the program and you'll realize how many prizes have to be purchased to have a success- ful Regatta. Our thanks to these 16 people plus your sup- port for making this task a leasant event. Also Fran inns and Joan Pearce for the enormous job of purchasing the prize awards. Remember Re- gatta Weekend is August 5,6,7. We would have wonderful summer weather if it would only rain during the night and ° give us a good weekend. I re- member how Ilooked forward to the weekends when I was a working person and was disap- pointed to have rain or having it go cold and windy. I must admit, we retirees usually have a good week starting every Monda and ending Friday. Never mind, the moon will change and this might change the cycle of weather. Keep your chin up and keep smiling. Our congratulations to Theresa Porter and Kevin Jay on their wedding last Saturday in Lindsay. They plan on living here in Caesarea.
