"A Family Tradition for 128 Years" PORT PERRY STAR - Wednesday, September 6, 1995 - 5 Gearing up for Fox Run Organizers report good response as date nears By Kelly Lown Port Perry Star Response has been very good for the upcoming Ter- ry Fox Run, but organiz- ers are still looking for do- nations of money and food towards its barbecue for participants. A large number of resi- dents have picked up pledge forms and the sale of T-shirts has been brisk, said organizing commit- tee member Laura Elliott. The map outlining the course of the run will be available this week as it has been approved by township council. The run, which will offi- cially begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 17, will leave the Port Perry Fair- grounds and after a half a lap of the track will pro- ceed through the Old Sim- coe Road exit. From there participants will make their way through Prince Albert to King Street, then contin- ue along Union Avenue back towards Port Perry. The run will then head along Water Street to the boat launch area for a trip across the boardwalk and back. The final leg will see the participants travel along North Street to Simcoe Street and along Reach Street, before completing another half a lap of the track. The route for rollerblad- ers will be slightly differ- ent to avoid the track and boat launch areas. The to- tal rollerblade route will be just more than 8 km. The five-km. route will go towards Queen Street, skipping the Prince Albert partofthe course. Pledge forms are still available and anyone who can help with donations' for the barbecue are asked to call Laura Elliott at 985-2571 or 666-6328, or Leo Plue at 986-4241. presented Mayor J.
