"We seem to be short on bodies every time we play Uxbridge and yet we're very competitive against them," says the Port Perry skipper, "so there is no reason why we couldn't beat them i In a playoff se- ries.' Indeed, if there is one club he would sooner by- pass, it's the Little Britain Merchants, a club which has given the MoJacks a "handful. "We haven't played a good game against Little Britain this year," he points out. "The only way to beat them is to skate hard." That opportunity will arise Thursday night at Scugog Arena when the ModJacks play host to the Merchants, starting at 8:30 p.m. WALLY WORLD - Ifthe ModJacks - Bruins game serves as a barometer, a playoff series between these clubs would be high- ly entertaining. They were in tough against the Snafu and lost it with just 19 seconds showing to play in regulation time. Trader Sams eliminated the Warri- ors by a 3-0 count thereby gaining en- trance into the 'A' semi-final. In what was one of the better played games of the whole weekend the Bruins put Blackstock out by a 3-2 count in double overtime, gaining them en- trance to the other 'A' semi. The Framers continued on their win- ning ways on the 'B' side as they pulled off a close 2-1 win over Lingar. The MOB downed the Swampers late Satur- day evening and would then play Brooklin on Sunday morning. The Framers got to their final by win- ning the last game of Saturday night, defeating the Rahms with a 3-0 blank- ing. Sunday morning saw the start of the 'A' side semis and try as they might, Trader Sams went into double overtime only to drop a 3-2 decision to the Sharks out of Cannington. The other semi saw Brooklin blank the MOB to the tune of a 2-0 tally thereby earning a spot in the fi- nal. In the mens 'B' final it was the Fram- er's Gallery emerging the winners with a 1-0 nail biter over the Snauf. A short whilé later in the 'A' final the Bruins climbed to a 3-0 lead over the Sharks be- fore allowing a single with just over a minute to play for a 3-1 championship score. On the ladies side of the house the Port Perry squad didn't fare so well los- ing to Antrim 2-1, and CA Steel of Sud- bury 5-0 and thusly being eliminated. In the 'B' side final it was the Sunder- land Misfits of the Cannington league beating the rival Antrim team 3-0. In the 'A' final it was the Panthers of Barrie scoring late in the second period to defeat CA Steel 1-0.
