Lift your eyes to the sun, not the shade! Keep your heart filled with song, as you travel along, For this is the day God | hath made! Look to the day with a pur- pose, Of fulfilling the plans that you've had. With a joy in your heart that will never depart, For God made this day to be glad! Look to the day with a prayer, And a quiet request of His aid; And be glad all day through in whatever you do; For this is the day God hath made. John Gilbert Beyond Measure How can one measure friend- ship - The firm, warm clasp of a hand, The comfort in the wel- come sound of the words, "I un- derstand." How can one meas- ure courage - The strength we find to fight; To suffer life's anx- ieties, To stand up for the right. How can one measure beauty, hope, or happiness or love? What man-made measure can encompass faith in God above. So much of life - the best of life - The things we truly treasure, And those, the gifts of bound- less depth - Beyond all earthly measures!
