Comets vs Flames Game three was a much closer game with the Compton Comets finally defeating the Harrison Flames 2-1 in the last sec- onds of the game. Bill Foote got the first goal for the Comets with an assist from Doug Bronson, then Bill Bridge scored the Flames' first with an un- assisted shot. Then with 53 seconds left in the game Steve Connors scored with Doug Bronson and David Roth assisting. Clippers vs Wolves In game four the Fitzge- rald Clippers defeated the Pineridge Wolves 3-1. Derek Fitzgerald scored the first two goals of the game for the Clippers with assists from Greg Fitzgerald, Jim Park, Doug Suppelsa and Carl Fitzgerald. Then Warren Geer scored for the Wolves with assists from Wayne Norton and Robert Van Camp. The final goal was scored by Dave Milton who was assisted by Rick Campbell and Carl Fitzge- rald. Senators vs Sharks Game four was the clos- The Brooklin Bruins did what they had to on Sun- day afternoon, and that was win to force a third and deciding game in this best of three League Championship final for the Port Perry Broomball Association. They did it in convincing fashion with a 4-0 blanking of the Home- life Swampers. The Swamper's goal- tender Keith Tremblay couldn't be faulted on half of the goals as they were deflected in off his defend- ers in front who just hap- pened to get various parts of their bodies or sticks in 'the way of Bruins'shots. The first goal was awarded to Rob Mason on Just such a play as his shot going wide of the net was re-directed into the vacant short side. This occurred with just under two min- utes left in the opening pe- riod and was followed up immediately by a goal from the stick of Perry Ma- est game with the Ball- Callery Senators tying the Van & Truck World Sharks at 4-4. The Sharks started out with a 2-0 lead after Dave Dickson scored with assists from Brad Menzies and Carl Dur- ward and Jay Adam scored unassisted. Then Mark Decosta scored a shot assisted by Ken Jef- frey and Paul Goreski fol- lowed by another Sharks' goal by Dave Dickson and assisted by Brad Menzies. Fred Moffatt scored the next goal for the Senators with an assist from Rob Evans followed by Rob Evans scoring with assis- tance from Ken Jeffrey Bruins force gf a third game with Swamp son with Luc Collard drawing the assist. The Swampers were again vic- tims of their own fate as Nick Attwood's pass to Wayne Tate on a two on one play was accidentally knocked in by the defend- er. With Tremblay pulled for the extra attacker and. with the Bruins short- handed, Dennis Mac- Whirter floated a high pass just below the ceiling over the centre line where it was picked up by Att- wood who then put it in the empty net with the clock showing forty nine seconds to play. Jim Raaphorst picked up the shutout for the Bruins and deserved it in the first period where the Swampers held the advan- tage for the most part un- til the last few minutes. The third and deciding game will be played this coming Saturday evening at 5 p.m. at the local arena thus putting an end to the 1995-96 season. and Fred Moffatt.
