iH 2- PORT PERRY STAR - Tuesday, August 20, 1996 Public's invited to view museum's future plans A public meeting will be held tonight to unveil plans for the future of Scugog Shores Museum Village. Long-range and short- term plans will be avail- able for the public to view and comment upon at the meeting, which takes place at 8 p.m. in the church on the museum grounds, on Island Rd. Plans for the future include moving some of the buildings on the grounds and creating oth- ers to build an entire vil- lage that could, some day, see as many as 20 struc- tures, curator Dan Robert wie by 04 o- >e- ~ BE NA SA SA J HARA PIN PN NN 2 bo 4 said in an interview last week. And more immediately, there are plans to move a cabin dating to the 1830's from its current site on the Island to the museum grounds. The Rodman cabin, built by one of Scugog Island's first set- tlers, is less than a mile away from the museum, on a farm on Head Rd. "We figure it's not the oldest (cabin in Scugog), but on of the oldest still existing," Mr. Robert said of the cabin.
