Tickets were sold out for the dinner, held in recog- nition of the important role the agricultural com- munity plays in Scugog Township. Sponsored mainly by the Scugog Chamber of Commerce, with assis- tance from the CIBC, Broadlands Farm and sev- eral other local business- es, the event featured a dinner prepared by Judy's Catering of Port Perry. The menu featured fresh fare provided by several farmers in the area. A highlight of the eve- ning was when Chamber president Rick McCoshen presented Andrew Frew of Nestleton with a $500 scholarship, sponsored by Broadlands Farm. Currently in his third year of a four-year pro- gram in Agronomy - a com- bination of crop and soil science - at the University of Guelph, Andrew said he plans to put the money to- wards his tuition in the next semester. After being selected from among several appli- cants, Andrew felt very fortunate to be chosen.
