Two areas, consisting of Highway 12 and Scugog Line 12 and Highway 12 and Line 14 will see road improvements a year early because council feels someone is going to get hurt if the work is put off any longer. Regional Councillor Marilyn Pearce, who chairs the Roads Committee, said the work needs to be done before the winter or the township is also going to be faced with major maintenance repairs. Flooding on the roadways over the Damaged roads in Ward 1 given nod for upgrading summer and fall have created huge problems for motorists navigating around potholes, large amounts of water and washed out roadways. While the roads were budgeted for work next year, the township will have the work done now and have the bills de- ferred until 1997.
