"A Family Tradition for 130 Years if oo Last Wednesday the ladies of the Fidelas Unit U.C.W. had the opportunity to view part of the two hour video made by the C.B.C. of the 50th anniversary of the freeing of Holland. It showed the dregs of war and then in 1995 the smiling faces of * the Dutch people as they watched the soldiers on parade that had saved their country. Next Sunday, Nov. 17 the youth group will be holding a pancake breakfast from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the church school rooms with a charge of $5 per adult, $2.50 per child or $15 per family. So people of the com- munity come out for breakfast and support the youth group in one of their many endeavors. Church services at Green- bank United Church will be at 11:15 a.m. with Sunday School at the same time and the Sacra- ment of the Lord's Supper will be served, everyone is invited to attend. Seagrave park board dance on Dec. 14th Mark your calendars for the annual*Seagrave Park Board Dance. As last year, the dance will be at the Seugog Cominunity Hall in Port Perry (next tothe arena). Happy birthday wishes to Joan Lee. The community welcomes Jack and Carol Nottingham, who have moved into a home on Meadow Green Court, Seagrave from Scugog Island. Sympathy of the community is extended to George and Darlene Hill and family in the death last week of George's grandmother, Mrs. Ida Lankin, formerly of Glen Major. Flowers were placed in the church on Sunday in her memory. A benefit musical program for Trevor Szewerda, organized by Alex and Margaret Ingram, will be held this Friday, Nov. 15 at 7:30 p.m. at Seagrave United Church. It will feature Gary Tummons Big Band, Swing Tyme Melodies and a variety of other talent. There will be a bake sale table for which donations from the community would be appreciated. A free will offering will be collected. Come out to support this worthy cause and enjoy an evening of music. The choir sang "O Day of Peace," from the new hymn book, Voices United, at the Remembrance Day Church Service on Sunday. Margaret Ingram gave the Minute for Mission, explain- ing where some of our M & S. Fund is spent. It supports many pro- jects in our own Bay of Quinte Conference. Some of which are camping centres, Theological students at Queen's University, Kingston, Rural Life projects, Hospital Chaplains and some new churches. Rev. David Shepherd's sermon was on Remembrance. Next Sunday is Sacrament of the Lord's Supper and Sunday School classes will be at 10 a.m. All children in the community are welcome. The turkey dinner committee wishes to thank all those who donated food and helped in anyway to make the annual church turkey dinner, which was held last week, a decided success. This is a real community effort which is appreciated very much by our church members.
