"A Family Tradition for 120 Years" Predators take A [| €rown at tourney The Port Perry Canadi- an Tire Midget Predators travelled to Havelock on Saturday, Nov. 30 to take part in a local tournament and returned home as the "A" finalists. The Preda- tors played extremely well on this day winning their first two games and then dropping a close one in the final. The first game of the day was against Keswick and our Predators came out flying in this one as they quickly jumped into a 1-0 lead early in the open- ing period as Tom Keeble ripped a wrist shot to the top corner. Ryan Moynes picked up the only assist on the goal. The second period had the Predators continue to dominate the game as they fired in three more goals to make it 4-0 after two periods of play. Scor- ing for the Predators were Tom Keeble with his sec- ond of the game, Jamie Levon and Travis Pickard with Wyatt Park picking up the only assist. The Predators made it a 5-0 game as Wyatt Park scored from Glen McCready and Travis Pickard. The Predators seemed to let up a bit as they felt they had the game in the bag so to speak but Keswick made a game of it firing in two of theirownbutitjust wasn't enough. Final score 4-2 Predators. The Predators next op- ponent was Trenton and once again our local boys put forth a team effort and pulled out a 4-0 win. Scor- ing for the Predators were Jamie Levon with the hat trick and Scott Sanderson with the other. Assisting on these goals were Mike Morden, Ashley Van Shel- ven, Tom Keeble, Adam Smith and Dave Kammin- ga. Picking up the shutout for the Predators was Doug Short who came up with numerous big saves when called upon. The final game was against Bradford and it was a good one. After a scoreless first period it would be. Bradford that would draw first blood but the Predators fought back and Tom Keeble tied things up with help from Ryan Moynes and Scott Sanderson. The third period had Bradford fire in two goals to take a 3-1 lead and things were looking bad for the Predators. But they never gave up and kept on playing hard until Jamie Levon finally firéd one in from Glen McCready and Dave Kam- minga to make it 3-2. With the goalie pulled in favor of the extra attacker the Predators tried to"get the tying goal but just couldn't find the range. Corey" Branton was in net for the Predators and was select- ed as game MVP for his team. Midgets top Picton, 4-3 On Monday, Nov. 25 the Pineridge Sports Midgets handed the Picton Prowlers a 4-3 loss. We were dowrr by two goals early, but managed to come out on top thanks to Casey Van Schagen, who had not one but two snipes, Ian Parliament, who scored a darling wrap-around and Dan Lyons with the game winner. The Picton boys were very polite about the loss, ex- pressing no feelings of anger on or offthe ice.
