This is Durham Region's largest Christmas tree farm, when families from far and near visit the farm to select and cut their own fresh Christmas tree. With the inclement weather condi- tions over the weekend, not a big crowd turned out for the first weekend. But I'm sure next wee- kend with Christmas fast approaching Murcotts will be a hub of activity. They are open weekends from Nov. 30 to Dec. 22. Open Fridays Dec. 6, 13 and 20. Scugog Island United Church A large gathering of all ages prepared the church for advent during our annual "Hanging of the Greens" Party on Saturday morning. Special thanks to the Christian Education Committee for planning this event. A meaningful "Hanging of the Greens" service was held on Sunday morning. Thanks to the High School Supper Club for providing refresh- ments for our Coffee Hour following the service. It was an honor to have Mrs. Grant worship with us in the service. White Gift Sunday is next Sunday when we remember those less fortunate than us. A special offering will be received to be sent to Evangel Hall, Toronto. Donations of canned food will be delivered to the men's hostel, Oshawa.
