Dubbed "Food For Fines", the promotion sees users bring in non- perishable food items to pay for overdue materi- als. Cash donations will also be accepted. While there is no set goal for its second year, Tom Bonanno, CEO of the library, hopes to improve on the $300 and 15 boxes of food they received in their inau- gural campaign last year. "Instead of having an having two weeks were people can bring in non- perishable food items for their fines or they can still pay cash," said Mr. Bonanno. He added, though that this does not apply to lost items: "If you lost a $60 book and bring in a one-dollar can of spaghetti, it does- n't work." All food and cash col- lected during the next two weeks will be donat- ed to the Operation Scugog Christmas Food Hamper Program.
