Star, Books Galore seek short stories Attention, aspiring scribes: Get working now on your entry for the Port Perry Star's 1997 Short Story Contest. Co-sponsored by The Star and Books Galore and More in Port Perry, the contest is a way of inviting our readers to contribute their stories in a fun competition for prizes, and recognition. We're looking for origi- nal short piéces of fiction that have not been pub- lished Lkefore. Entries from two age categories -- Juvenile and Adult -- will be accepted, with prizes going to the top three sub- missions, as chosen by our judges, in each class. Prizes will be books, sup- plied by Books Galore and More. In addition, The Star will publish the top entry in each of the age cate- gories in upcoming issues. If space allows, we may be able to run more of the stories. The contest is open as of today, Jan. 7, and the deadline for submissions is 5 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 28.
