This series is a semi-final series of the OMHA playoffs. Port got the early edge in the game as Chad Lance scored the opening goal on a nice setup by Ryan McQuade and Deryk Campbell. Ryan Fraser made some fine saves in net for Port to earn the shutout. Game two was played the following night in Ni- agara Falls and the hosts were determined to put on a good show. Port jumped out to a 1-0 lead as Jason Whitworth was set up by Mark Blakley and Nick Pelyk. Niagara Falls tied the game, but once again Port restored their lead as Nick Pelyk scored assisted by Jason Whitworth and Grant Hooker. Niagara stormed back with two goals for a 3-2 lead after one period. In the second it was all Port as they scored four unanswered goals for a commanding 6-3 lead af- ter two periods. The Line of Jason Whitworth, Mark Blakley and Nick Pelyk tore apart the Niagara de- fence as they each scored a goal and picked up two as- sists. The other goal was scored by Jeff Ashton with assists going to Murphy Irvine and Deryk Camp- bell. In the third the solid de- fence went to work and shut out the Niagara Falls team giving Port a 6-3 win and a lead of 2-0 in the se- ries.
