"A Family Tradition for 131 Years" PORT PERRY STAR - Tuesday, April 29, 1997 - 21 CHS Senior Band off to Boston By Linda and Colleen Arbuckle On this warm, sunny Sunday morning, the con- gregation was greeted by the smiling faces of Kay and Robert Notman. Kay was also the reader for to- day as well. We received quite a surprise when it came to the sermon which was entitled "Faith In Bloom." Reverend David Shearman took a break this week and had some guests speakers instead. These guest speakers were the clowns from the Blackstock Clown Troupe. It certainly made the ser- mon quite interesting, not to mention very humorous as well. The collection was tak- en by John Waters and Carol Hill. The congregation of the church wish to invite you to their annual Spring Smorgasbord Dinner on May 3. There will be two settings, one at 5 p.m. and one at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are going quickly so get yours from Gwen Malcolm 'at 986-5527. That's because the senior concert band is on their way to Boston. The time has come for us to leave, and then re- turn on May 4 with a gold medal from the Interna- tional Music Festival. The band would like to thank all of the people from the community who helped us with our fund- raising dinner, as well as the craft show which we held in November. Thank you for all your support. We'd like to hear from you, about your visiting relatives or just about events in the community that you think everyone should know about.
