Pete and Lou Fitton have turned the walls and upper shelves of their 90- year-old grocery and bakery into a museum of the store's history. store has been the focal point of life in the hamlet. With very little change to its outward appearance the Nestleton Country Store has, over the years, gone from selling suspenders and boot hooks to frozen food and video taped movies. Mrs. Fitton said the project just sort of happened. "When we took over the store (12 years ago) I found some old tobacco tins and other tins in the attic. Other photos of the store, taken over Nestleton Country Store owner Pete Fitton with a picture taken of the build- ing decades ago. Old photos, as well as product containers from other eras, the years -- some donated by local peo- ple from their own albums -- adorn the shelves. One shows a 1958 Chevy next to old-style glass top gas pumps. "Some of our customers have helped out with photos and with identifying people in the pictures," said Mrs. Fitton. Next time you're in the busy little store in Nestleton, don't stare at the floor or the ceiling as you wait in line. Look around you and take in the histo- ry of the store, and the people of the tiny hamlet it has served for 90 years.
