Shawn Hubbert, a 23-year-old former Port Perry resi- dent, walked into Durham Regional Police's 17th Division headquarters in Oshawa shortly before 9 a.m. yesterday. No mention is made if he was accompanied by anyone. A province-wide arrest warrant was issued for the former township resident following a July 3 home invasion of a Blossom Court residence. Police allege that Hubbert and 24-year-old Rand Moore were involved in three invasions at the Port Perry residence. The residence was first targeted on June 26 when three men, dressed in black "ninja" attire and armed with a knife, burst into the home demanding to know who was in the home. They told two women no one would be hurt, and walked through the house before leaving. Nothing was reported stolen. During a second incident, police allege that two men vis- ited the same residence just before midnight on July 1. Witnesses report that the two men were wearing regular street clothes when they knocked on the door of the home. When a 19-year-old male answered the door, they proceeded to drag him onto the front lawn and beat him, police said. The male sustained facial and head injuries and had his jacket stolen. : Two days later, say police, the two suspects returned to the home, forcing their way into the house around 10 p.m. on - July 3. Upon entering they made their way upstairs to a bed- room belonging to the 19-year-old male who was previously assaulted. " One of the intruders, who witnesses say appeared to have a handgun in his pocket, picked up a shotgun off the bed- room floor. They then held the male and some friends in the room for a brief time before robbing a guest and taking off with the shotgun and $200, police said. The shotgun was later recovered last week when one of he suspects arranged to have a family member return it to po As a result of the last home invasion, both Shawn Hubbert and Rand Moore face charges including break and enter; pointing a firearm; two counts of robbery; one count of using a firearm-in commission of an offense; and one count of forceable confinement. Rand Moore, who is still on the loose, also faces one count of the break, enter and assault; one count of assault causing bodily harm; and one count of theft under $5,000 stemming from the July 1 home invasion.
