AC TC -- CU GEER Gl a ShusnBRiRiR a Sn BRAS TENN RRR Sa Lo IRR "A Family Tradition for 131 Years" PORT PERRY STAR - Wednesday, October 15, 1997 - 33 Port Midgets fall 4-2 to Trenton The Port Perry "Pineridge Sports" Midget 1 team took on Trenton at the Scugog Arena, Oct. 9. It was Trenton who opened the scoring early in the first period but Port tied the game late in the period as Adam Hobbs broke in alone to score assisted by Troy Campbell and Jason Malcolm. In the second period it was fairly even until Trenton capitalized on the Port team taking a nap to score three goals in a two minute period for a 4-1 lead after two. The third period was exciting as Port pushed to get back in the game only to be stymied by the Trenton defence. Tyler Wootton managed to get one back as he was assisted by Troy Campbell, but that was the only dent Port could make as Trenton won 4-2. Sharing the goaltending duties for the Midget team this year are Ryan Fraser and Paul Brownson. On defence will be Tom Keeble, Jason Malcolm, Scott Harper, Jeff Ashton, Matt Caldwell and Jon Froats. Playing forward this year will be Derek Tindall, Tyler Wootton, Danny Lyons, Troy Campbell, Adam Hobbs, Scott Jeffrey, Dave Gainey, Ryan McQuade and Mike Hamilton. With the support of everyone involved this year's team will be very competitive and have lots of fun. The next scheduled home game 1s an exhibition game on Oct. 16 at 9:15 p.m. and Napanee comes to town on Saturday, Oct. 18 at 8 p.m. Come on out and see some good exciting hockey.
