"A Family Tradition for 131 Years" J | PORT PERRY STAR - Tuesday, December 23, 1997 - 15 | Live Nativity (with a donkey, no less!) delights congregation May I take this oppor- tunity to wish the editor and staff of this newspa- per, the readers of this col- umn and all those who contribute to it a very Merry Christmas and a Happy, Healthy New Year. Last Friday Helen Bradburn and Winnifred Davison of Nestleton accompanied Jean and Carl Adams to Beaverton where they visited their good friends Flora Samells. Flora enjoys good health and would like to wish all her friends in the Blackstock and Nestleton areas the compliments of the season. Sympathy is extended to Roy and Shirley Turner and their daughters Lorrie Minshall and Jan Martyn and their families on the passing of Roy's brother, Ralph Turner. Many in this area will remember Ralph when he came to assist in the work at Turners Greenhouse each spring. On Thursday Roy accompanied Lorrie and Jan to Bancroft where they attended the funeral. Shirley was unable to attend as she is confined to their home with pneu- monia. Ask Cecil and Marie Gibson or Gerald and Joyce Kelly about the Parade of Lights at Rockwood. On Thursday evening they attended this very unique Santa Parade - all the vehicles were farm machinery each lit with thousands and thousands of lights powered by indi- vidual generators. Santa and Mrs. Claus arrived in their cutter on a huge com- bine with corn header. A delightful event indeed. Nancy Bryans has returned from a relaxing month at their mobile in Clearwater, Florida. Mid week guests of Merrill and Jean Van Camp were Art and Dorothy Catton of R.R., Lindsay and Laverne and Velma Gibson of Millbrook. Several young people took part in this special event. During the service the ser- mon section was an excel- lent presentation of the Sunday School. Margaret Mountjoy reminded us of the White Gift Service and the High School Senior's Luncheon. Pat Sleep showed two beautiful children's books that were purchased as a welcome for Rev.
