Fairley conducted the regular church service at 11 a.m. in Nestleton Presbyterian Church with Joyce Taylor as organist. Ushers were Graham Ham and Harvey Mills. The Candle of Love was lit by Danielle and Cendra, on behalf of the Sunday School. The responsive Psalm was No. 85, and scripture readings were from Isaiah 35 and Luke 1-67. In the sermon, Rev. Fairley spoke of the gifts to us of Salvation, bringing us Truth and Loving - kindness. There was a luncheon and social time following in the Sunday School room. Remember the Candlelight Service on Christmas, Dec. 24 at 7 p.m. All are welcome. Nestleton United Church On a cool sunny Sunday morning the Fourth Sunday of Advent, the door greeters were Art and Barb Weir. Art Weir was the scripture reader. The choir sang, "You Can Trust God." Sunday, Dec. 21 the All Ages Christmas Pageant was held at 7 p.m. The Sunday School classes and the adult choir entertained the guests. Santa made an appearance and all the children received a goodie bag. Thanks to Joanna Malcolm for all her work in organizing the pageant. Refreshments were served in the Sunday School room after the pageant, provid- ed by the U.C.W. members. The Christmas Worship Service will be held at Blackstock United Church on Wednesday, Dec. 24 at 7:30 p.m. All are welcome. Family News On Sunday, Dec. 13, Mrs. Neta Fish hosted an 182 Queen St., Port Pe 3 Kent St. E,, roe early Christmas gathering for her family at the Nestleton Community Centre. Families were pre- sent from Reaboro, Peterborough, Barrie and Oshawa. The 30 family members enjoyed a deli- cious turkey dinner with all the trimmings. Sunday, Dec. 21, Donald and Kathy Trump and Jennifer Arbuckle and Philip McLeod were lunch guests with Linda, Colleen and Marilynn Arbuckle. Karen and Christine Yellowlees attended the Warner family Christmas in Hastings on Saturday, Dec. 20. We hope that Maurice Nesbitt, who is still a patient in Oshawa Hospital, will be feeling better before Christmas. Scugog Island United Church The Youth Group visit- ed the Villa on Friday evening and presented a play and sang carols with the residents. It is won- derful fur young people to share their time during the busy Christmas sea- son. A Christmas Service of Communion was observed on Sunday. The Advent Candles were lit by George and Fiona Barrass. The Fourth Candle reminds us of God's way of love. Special thanks to the Orchestra A Scugog Island ] and Choir for providing Christmas music. The new choir gowns were dedicated. Everyone is invited to attend the Christmas Eve Service on Wednesday, Dec. 24 at 7:30 p.m. at Scugog Island United Church.
