Kirsten Beal, a mother of two, collected $10,000 from the Ontario Lottery Corporation recently after she purchased a winning ticket at a Becker's store on Rossland Rd. East in Oshawa. Prior to this her largest lottery win was $200. "I was so excited about my win, I felt sick," she said when picking up her cheque. The Port Perry woman says she plans to pay bills with her windfall. Kirsten Be By Janice Kadowaki On Saturday, March 28 the Blackstock 4-H Club went to Purple Woods and learned how the Natives, the Pioneers and how we make maple sugar. We went on an hour long tour and stopped at the three stations where someone told us about the history of the making of maple sugar. Afterwards we went on a hay ride and also on a hike. We had beautiful weather and had a great time. On Wednesday, April 15 the 4-H Club met at the Anglican Church for our fifth meeting. The group was split in half and some of us made date squares and potato pancakes. The rest of us finished our bread looms and the people who missed the fourth meeting made beeswax candles. When they were done everyone got a taste test of the date squares and the potato pan- cakes. They were great and we had a wonderful second last meeting. On Saturday, April 25 the Blackstock Blast from the Past went to the Scugog Shores Museum for a tour. We cleaned and brushed wool and then made it into yarn. We made oatmeal cookies. We washed clothes with a scrub board in freezing cold water. And finally we played games and ate our cookies. All of us had a great time and I'm sure that everyone learned something new. al was shocked to find herself a $10,000 winner in the Daily Keno game recently.
