The ThunderCars were first to chal- lenge the drying track and victories in the eight lap heats were split between Dave Crother, Joe Anderson and Roy Martel (two). Nineteen cars were grided for the feature with the fastest lining up at the rear of the field, ensuring a scram- ble at the drop of the green flag. Twenty laps and only one caution period later it was Pickering's Martel in his recently rebuilt Malibu completing the victory sweep. Ken Perrier crossed the line in second place, just holding off a deter- mined Les Stanley. Four different drivers enjoyed wins in the Modified heat runs with top points going to Larry Jackson, Darrin Wrigglesworth, Graham Brown and Paul Milligan. The feature event was high- lighted by a tremendous three way battle for the lead between Jackson, Wrigglesworth and Dwight Brown, but the inevitable tangle occurred in turn four knocking all three racers out of con- tention. Inheriting top spot on the restart was Graham Brown who led Tom Milligan and Oshawa's Trevor Veitch in the five lap dash to the checkers.
