He noted that at the start of the sea- son he gave the team 8-10 games to start adapting to his system and way of doing things. Sunday's game was the eighth of the campaign. In other Jr. C action recently, Lakefield clob- bered the Merchants 8-0; Uxbridge took two from Bobcaygeon -- 7-2 and 6-0; and the Georgina Ice hand- ed the Bruins their first loss of the season by a 3-2 margin Saturday night. This week has three very tough games, starting Tuesday night when they travel to Lakefield. Wrapping up a busy schedule, Port travelled to Oshawa on Oct. 24. On board first was Oshawa, however Port roared back with three quick goals giv- ing them a 3-1 lead. Port stretched this lead to 4-1 early in the second before Oshawa mounted a rally with two quick goals. Pineridge rounded out the period with a late goal restoring the two goals lead. Playing solid defensive hockey in the third, Port added one more goal for the 6-3 final. Mike Hamilton led the way with a hat trick. Singles went to Jeff Ashton, Dean Van Camp and Braden Tarbotton. Ryan McQuade and Matt MacMaster led the assist parade with two each while Deryk Campbell, Nick Pelyk, Sean Jeffrey, Mark Blakley and Braden Tarbotton chipped in one each. Mike MacLennan and Ryan Fraser have been performing well in net for Port over this busy time. Thanks to all the 'AP' players who filled in when suspensions and injuries kept the reg- ulars out. Mark your calendars for Nov. 5 when Cobourg comes to town once again and Nov. 7 when the Midgets host their annual home tournament. It promises to be some very exciting and competitive hockey.
