Enchanted from her first memory of watching a shaft of sunlight, Nancy has painted all subjects in watercolour, from portraits to moody interiors to landscapes, focusing on the dramatic use of light, while contrasting patterns and texture. Nancy, a Coboconk artist featured on the Victoria County Studio Tour, says "I fell in love with the clean fresh look of watercolour. After 10 years of learning to control the paint, I'm just now learning to let it do the painting while I watch." Whether painting a portrait, still life or landscape, there is that same current of emotion displayed in her work. Drawing and painting since early childhood, not until her two children were in school did Nancy find the time to paint professionally. - Since 1988 Nancy has been exhibit- ing her work in galleries and shows throughout Ontario, winning first place awards in Aurora, Haliburton and Buckhorn.
