"Guys like Doug McLatchy, John Cavers, and Stu Rowat have really helped with this and the church, they paid for the ice time and got us new jerseys," Mr. Webb said, adding that Scugog councillors were kind enough to keep the ice in the arena for one more day. Tickets for the game are $5 each and are on sale at Big Brothers/Big Sisters of North Durham, 985-3733; The Framers Gallery, 237 Queen St., 985-2543; and Beldwin Sales, 34 Toronto St., South, Uxbridge, 852- 453. Tickets may be on sale at the door the day of the game, but availability is not guaranteed and an auto- graph session will be held between noon and 2 p.m. that day. Taking home the Suggitt Memorial Trophy for the top mens' team in the league was Tony Duivestyn and Harold Luke, who were presented the trophy by Merlin JOYCE KELLY FOR THE PORT PERRY STAR Suggitt. Absent from the photo was Ralph Swain. Other winners include the rink of Mike and Lois Marks and Brenda and Ron Metcalf, who were pre- sented with the Mixed Trophy. Brad Menzies and Mark Jobb led the way for Van & Truck World with two goals and an assist each, while Dave Buxcey added one goal and two helpers. Also finding the back of the net for Van & Truck World was Jay Adam after he took nice passes from Brad Coppin and Bob Almack as they had two assists each in this game. Also setting up a pair of Van & Truck goals was Mike Geer. Cedar Creek goalscorers were John Harman with two goals, and it was Mike Gilmour and Karl Durham adding single markers. Setting up the Cedar Creek goals were Mike Gilmour with a pair of assists, while single assists went to Karl Durham, Bob Collins, Nathan Brown, Duane Empringham and Colin Asselstine. K.C.I. Gas Bar 3 Harrison Fuels 2 Three early goals by K.C.I. Gas Bar sent Harrison Fuels to the big toilet bowl game next week as they come out on top with a 3-2 win. Steve Sinclair opened the scoring for K.C.I. from Brian Pomeroy and eight seconds later it was Warren Geer extending the K.C.I. lead to 2-0 after taking a nice feed from Mike Ayres. In the second frame Duane Bronson made it 3-0 for K.C.I. with he.p from Warren Geer, but Harrison answered right back as John Ennis put his team on the board after taking passes {rom Richie LeFort and Jamie Menzies. Late in the second period Richie LeFort got Harrison within one assisted by Craig Leask and Mike McGuinness but it would not be enough as Harrison Fuels now has their sights set on flushing Ball/Callery & Associates next week in toilet bowl action. Taylor/Ford Mercury 3 Goreski's Roofing 2 With a position in the cham- pionship game on the line, Goreski's Roofing was unable to deliver against Taylor/Ford Mercury as they came up short suffering a 3-2 defeat. Taylor/Ford opened the scoring late in the opening frame when Gary Lance found the net assisted by Reg Templeman and Myles O'Riordan. The Roofers answered back when Doug Bronson provided offense after taking a pass from Larry Pilkey. Two quick goals from Taylor/Ford gave them a 3-1 lead and finding the net was Rich Bricknell from Gary Lance, and Steve Groves assist- ed by Bill Bridge. A late Roofers goal from Mark Goreski brought them within one assisted by Larry Pilkey and Bill Foote but it would not be enough in this game, Pineridge Sports 1 Taylor Fuels 1 This was a huge game for Taylor Fuels as a spot in the championship game was on the line as they took on Pineridge Sports. Needing only one point for a position in the big game Taylor Fuels was successful as they came away with a 1-1 tie. Early in the first period when Dean Smith found the net unas- sisted. Pineridge answered back with a goal courtesy of Tony Oxley after he took a pass from Dave Burnett. The high- light of this game was a big save by Pineridge goaltender Sean Parker as he got a pad on Jarett Harman's penalty shot and although the save was made, Taylor Fuels was still able to advance to the champi- onship game. Joe's Pizzeria 2 Monsma Electric 1 In a low scoring affair it was Joe's Pizzeria defeating Monsma Electric by a score of 2-1. Monsma opened the scoring in the second period when Mike McQuade found the back of the cage after taking passes from Brad Meekin and Dave Cini. Two unanswered goals by Joe's proved to be the difference in this contest as Carl Fitzgerald tied the game from John Mackey, and then John Mackey slid one through the pads of the Monsma goaltender assisted by Dave Dickson and Chris O'Connor to give Joe's the win and a place in the big game, Compton Communications 3 Ball/Callery & Assoc. 2 In the final game of the day Compton Communications defeated Ball/Callery & Associates by a score of 3-2. Compton opened the scoring when Scott Wilbur found the net with the help of Mathew Hobbs and Mike Driscoll. Ball/Callery was quick to answer back when Paul Stanley Taylor Fuels, Joe's Pizzeria will meet in the SHL final provided the offence from in front of the net after receiving passes from Ken Davison and Henry Forderer. In the second period Compton once again took the lead and it was Scott Wilbur getting his second of the game as he tipped in a nice pass from Todd Wilbur in the top corner glove side. Ball/Callery once again answered back and this time it was Phil McBride providing the offence from Brad Hurst and Henry Forderer. Late in the third Compton scored the game winner and it was Scott Heasman coming through assisted by Ron Compton and Todd Wilbur to close out the scoring in this game.
