Located east of the junction of Simcoe St. and Hwy. 7A, the popular restaurant uses only Alaskan halibut, a delicious fish known for its superior taste. It was six years ago when Steve Nitsa and his wife Louise opened the doors to the Halibut House. The now work together, with their son Stephen and daughter Laurel. The restaurant offers a full menu, but they continue to specialize in the fish and chips they have become famous for. People from all over Ontario have come to dine at the Halibut House, and many are repeat customers. The secret to the Halibut House's success is the nice light batter, a secret Greek recipe. Throughout the week the Halibut House offers many specials. On Tuesdays seniors get 10 per cent off, and if you buy one selected dinner on Mondays and Wednesdays, you get the second dinner at half price. Besides the delicious fish and chips the restaurant offers chicken, souvla- ki, steak on a bun, chicken wings and hamburgers. Beer and wine are also available. Opening at 11 a.m. 7 days a week, the Halibut House is wheel chair accessible and can seat 60 people inside while the licensed outdoors patio holds 50 seats. "I do my best to give customer sat- isfaction," Steve says. And he's especially grateful for everyone who selected the Halibut House as the restaurant that serves the best fish and chips in town.
