20 - PORT PERRY STAR - Tuesday, July 6, 1999 "Scugog's Community Newspaper of Choice" R > ORT PERRY STAR < URAL Roors Last weekend's Truck 'n Tractor Pull was a roarin' The annual Tractor and Truck Pull was an excellent success on Friday evening with fine weather and great compe- tition. However, on Saturday, problems plagues the event - first a breakdown of the sled caused a delay (which actually gave Dinky the Clown a great opportunity to display his most unusual car in fine fashion) and then the pull had to be closed before its conclusion due to a severe thunderstorm, wet track conditions and lack of electricity. But many excellent pulls were made in spite of the difficulties. Next Monday evening, July 12 an event that has not been here in Blackstock for many, many years will be held - name- ly the July 12 parade. It will form up at the arena and fair- grounds and will begin at 7 p.m. I am sure many visitors will be in town for this parade.
