Each weekend a team of staff and volun- teers hit the streets of Durham Region to edu- cate our youth on HIV/AIDS. The youth in Durham and the general commu- nity have been very recep- tive and supportive of this project. Many local youth seek out the street team in order to make sure they have the necessary pre- vention materials they need to reduce their risk of HIV infection. The AIDS Committee of Durham offers training for volunteers in this pro- ject. The training includes HIV and AIDS, personal safety, street safety, sub- stance use and non-vio- lent crisis intervention. .
