"A Family Tradition for 132 Years" PORT PERRY STAR - Tuesday, July 20, 1999 - 15 \ Volunteers with fundraising smarts sought by association The Lung Association Durham Area needs enthusiastic, flexible volunteers who either want or have experience in fundraising event support and/or office administration. Autumn marks a very busy time for Durham's Lung Association as it launches three major events: a golf marathon, a hike for clean air, and a Christmas Soiree. As well, small scale fundraiser, and health education and public relations initiatives are ongoing year round. This is a great way to gain invalu- able experience, or offer your expertise to various planning committees at the community level. The Lung Association, one of Canada's oldest not for profit health organizations, is committed to the improvement of respiratory health through fundraising activities for the support of medical research, and com- munity health programs. A strong vol- unteer base is crucial to the success of our work in Durham Region, so please, help us to breathe a little easier by call- ing (905) 436-1046.
