Heather Burton's folks from Rob: Roy and Nottawa will be there and everyone is invited to join them for lunch at Sunset Point on Georgian Bay following the service. On Sunday afternoon, a birthday party was held at the home of Glen and Shari Kerry to honour the first birthday of daughter Hayden who I am told, took her very first steps on Thursday. Happy birth- day. Archie and Jenny Watson with friends Mr. and Mrs. John Stulen from Brantford, motored to Mattawa, Ont. They rode the Timber Train through the river valley into Temiscamingue, Que. SERVICE § BUSINESS Aslings from Hanover, Hamilton, Toronto and Lethbridge were in town attending the funeral of Joan's father, Charlie Clarke which was held on Monday, July 19. Jill Asling from Lethbridge was in Kingston for two weeks brushing up on her music so she can teach music in the fall. After.two and a half months of having one eyelid closed, I'm now see- ing things more normally with both eyes, following my recent surgery. Thanks to all who were concerned. Lorne and Eileen Slute had a great day on Sunday when friends, relatives and neighbours joined them in an open house to celebrate their 50 years of marriage. There was a great deal of excitement on Friday as the big moving trucks passed through Utica transferring the home of Ted and Cecile Kirk from "the farm on the 6th Line "to their farm south of here. The Acton family picnic was held at the home of Ross and Barb Evans. The Women's Institute bus trip to the Peterborough area on July 29 still has a few seats left.
