A suspect turned himself in to police just after noon on Sunday (Sept. 19). He was the subject of a police investi- gation after several people told police = - that they had been bilked out of cash by a Port Perry resident. "We had two more people step for- ward last week with complaints regarding his fraud scheme," said Constable Al Robins, spokesperson for north Durham's 26 Division here in Port Perry. Const. Robins said that both a Caesarea man and an Oshawa man reported losing $2,000 each after a sus- pect approached them and offered them deals on personal water craft. "He told them that he was a repre- sentative from a personal water craft manufacturer and that he could get them a very good discount on these items," said Const. Robins. Both victims wrote out cheques for $2,000 in a suspect's name as a deposit and expected to receive a water craft, ity said Const.
