Over the Thanksgiving weekend the boys partici- pated in the Whitby AA Tournament. On Friday the Midgets played Peterborough AA and cruised to an 11-1 win. With only 10 skaters the Peterborough team were no match for the Port offense. The game Saturday against the Pickering AA team was a different affair. Port put in an excel- lent effort for the win by a score of 2-1. In Sunday's game played against the Oshawa AA the Pineridge Midgets won by a well deserved score of 4-2. Monday morning Port was in a semi-final against Newmarket and everyone put in another great effort for a 3-1 win. On to the Midget AA final against the Pickering AA team and Port's luck and legs ran out as they lost by an 8-1 score. All players contributed in the scoring over the weekend with the notables being Dean Van Camp, five goals and five assists, Matt MacMaster, two goals and seven assists, Bill Carr, six goals and two assists, and Mark Blakley, three goals and two assists. The team also had excellent goaltending all through the tourna- ment as Chris Monsma and Trevor Doan made many outstanding saves. Karl Durham scores four as Harrison Fuels triumphs over KCI Variety 6-4 From Page 19 putting his team ahead by one from Brian Till and Colin Wackett. Scoring Taylor Tuel's fourth goal was Rob Kroonenburg as the assist from Mike McGuinness opened the third period scoring. Compton Communications 5 Goreski's Roofing 2 .C om pt on Communications seemed to dominate this game throughout the entire con- test with Goreski's Roofing and the result was a 5-2 win. The key to their victory was a quick start offensively as three goals in the first period put the Roofers on the ground. Clarence Stephenson opened the scoring from Noah Dorland and Mike - Driscoll, and then Mike Driscoll found the net twice to put his team up 3-0. His first was set up by Brad Moase and Noah Dorland, while it was Todd Wilbur and Andrew Steele assisting on Compton's third of the game. Goreski's finally did find the scoreboard in the second frame with offense being supplied by Mark Goreski who was set up by Warren Geer. Compton responded by putting two more across the line. Doing the offen- sive damage was Chris O'Connor from Brian Pomeroy and Clarence Stephenson, and Brian Pomeroy assisted by Mike Driscoll and Duane Empringham. The Roofers added a late goal from Bill Van Camp attacking with help from Mark Goreski and Lee Steeves. Van Camp's late charge would not be enough as it was Compton picking up the two points. Harrison Fuels 6 K.C.1. Gas Bar & Variety 4 In a very offensive meeting between Harrison Fuels and K.C.L Gas Bar & Variety, it was K.C.I. emerging victorious by a score of 6-4. This game was controlled by Karl Durham as he sniped four goals including an empty netter in which he dialed long distance as it was fired the length of the ice. Picking up assists on Durham"s four goals was Richie LeFort with a pair, Marvin Stevenson, Steve Dunn, and Darcy Milligan. Jarett Harman had a fine game for K.C.I. with two goals and one assist. His first was due to a nice effort while falling down on the break- away and sliding through the pads with one hand after taking passes from CARTWRIGHT MINOR BALL ASSOCIATION GENERAL MEETING Tuesday, October 19th at 8:00 p.m. Blackstock Recreation Centre Executive Positions Available EVERYONE WELCOME! Taylor/Ford Mercury 5 B. Callery & Associates 0 This game was all Taylor/Ford Mercury as they shutout B. Callery & Associates by a final count of 5-0. Two goals and one assist each from Bill Bridge and Jamie Menzies led the way for Taylor/Ford. Also finding the cage was Jason Warner as his unassisted marker opened the scor- ing. Making the lead 2-0 was Mark Decosta as he finished off the two on one with Jason Warner by putting a one time through the five hole. Jamie Menzies was next to find the net from Mark Decosta and Bill Bridge. Bill Bridge then added two goals to put Taylor/Ford up 4-0. His first was set up by Jamie Menzies, while his second was assisted by Jason Warner and Keijo Kinnunnen. A late third period goal from Jamie Menzies finished off the B. Callery team and it was Mark Decosta and goaltender Bill Eade picking up the assists. When Bill Eade wasn't finding the score- shett, he was keeping B. Callery off of it as his many key saves earned him the shutout in the 5- . 0 Taylor/Ford Mercury win. Van & Truck World 5 Square Boy Pizza 2 The final game of the day went to Van & Truck World as they ordered a 5-2 loss for Square Boy Pizza. Square Boy did open the scoring as Dave Burnett found the back of the cage from Steve Fox. Van & Truck World responded with some Jay Adam offense as he was set up very nicely as Dave Dickson fed him a no-look pass in the slot after receiving the puck from Brad Menzies. Square Boy then took the lead once again when Ken Jeffrey put a snap- shot through the pads from the top of the faceoff circle following a nice drop pass from Bill Page. The other assist on Square Boy's final goal of the game went to Steve Fox as Van & Truck World took over from there. Leading the offensive charge was Dave Dickson with two goals. His first was from Mike Geer, while his second was assisted by Brad Menzies. Also scoring for Van & Truck World was Scott Heard assisted by Brad Menzies and Brian Stevenson, and Brad Menzies assisted by Brian Stevenson and Dave Dickson to close out the scoring in this contest. The teams play throughout the weekend showed that they are most capable of participating in a higher calibre tour- nament. Their next home game is Monday, Oct. 18 at 9:15 p.m. against arch rival Cobourg. Come on out. Port hosts Bobcaygeon Sunday From Page 19 .m.) and Sunday are ack at the Scugog Arena to meet the Bobcaygeon Bullets for the first time this season. The MoJacks should have some extra bounce when they meet Lakefield as the Chiefs trounced them 10-0 in a game that was closer than the score suggests. "We very easily could have had five or six against (Lakefield) in that loss," said the head coach, adding he didn't have any special plans for the game against the Chiefs this week. "We'll give them a good go. There should be a bit of incentive for the guys in the room," he added, referring to the loss at the Scugog Arena Oct. 3.
