> "A Family Tradition for 133 Years" Unwise penalties force 2-4-1 in the hole early Aldon beats up 2-4-1 Pizza 9-2 in local Bantam action Port Perry's Bantam Aldon team played 2-4-1 Pizza on Saturday night at Uxbridge. This was a game that was dominated by officiating as 2-4-1 got into penalty trouble early and totalled 22 somewhat unwise infractions before the game was done. The teams played fairly evenly for the first period, and Kyle Geer had to be sharp in net to keep 2-4-1 off the board. With only 12 seconds to go in the first, Josh Kaye scored for Aldon, assisted by Greg Jeffery and Tim Martyn. Aldon took a three goal lead in the second period, when Paul Phillips made a beautiful pass to set up a goal for B.J. Schuamp. Then Ryan Petch had a solo effort for his marker. Despite their troubles, 2-4-1 was still in the game when Alex Arnold notched a point, with help from Michael Scriven. Unfortunately 2-4-1's tempers got the best of them and they gave Aldon's sharp shooters room to capitalize. Goals were scored by Paul Phillips assisted by B.J. Schuamp, Mark Vernest, set up by Mark Schinkel, Garrett Brown, on a nice passing play from Josh Kaye and Kyle Taylor, unassisted efforts by Josh Kaye and Ryan Petch and the final nail was by Garrett Brown again assisted by Greg Jeffery. Alex Arnold managed one more point for 2-4-1 assisted by Michael Scriven and Cameron Marshall but a 9-2 victory goes into the books for Aldon. PORT PERRY STAR - Tuesday, November 16, 1999 - 27 From Page 26 The ModJdacks have several guys out of the lineup with nagging injuries: Matt Thurston hurt his knee against the Bruins; John Forget 1s out with a rib injury; and Bill Beaulieu and Jon Froates are on the shelf with shoulder injuries. All are expect- ed to be back in action some time in the next couple of weeks. The ModJacks now have a record of seven wins, seven losses, one Injury bug hits the green and white tie and one point for a loss in OT for a total of 16 points. Winning two of their three contests this week would put the Modacks over the .500 mark for the first time this season. Peterborough squeezes past Reid's Atom squad with two goals in the third Reid's Independent Atom 1 Rep team played host to the Peterborough squad on Nov.12 and Port Perry's for- wards Spencer Marlow and Hugh Allward checked hard and used their speed to keep the visitors off their game. The game was all tied up at one leading into the third period. Port Perry's goal was set up from behind the Peterborough net by Myles Romain who threaded a perfect pass through traffic to Jared Olsen in the slot. Jared, although well covered, man- aged to spin around and hook the puck Just inside the post. Port then let up a little too much and allowed Peterborough to take the lead _. and the win with two unanswered goals in the third period.
